My dear wife gave me an Xmas present this past year that is both a show of her love for me and a challenge. She found a fantastic personal trainer and signed me up for 20 sessions over the next 2.5-3 months. The goal is to be fitter by the time I hit 40 in April. In order to help motivate me and keep myself on track I've decided to blog about this journey. I hope to post here on a regular basis with updates on my progress.

Feeling a bit low...
I'm struggling a bit today. I feel as if my blood sugar is too low or something. Feeling a bit hungry after lunch too. I'm not sure how many calories I should be eating in a day (something I need to ask my trainer today). The app I started using to track calories says 1200 based on my current weight and my goal. Seems kind of low. I've already gone over (by 360) and it's only 1pm. Don't know if I will have enough energy for a good workout in 4 hours. Maybe it's just being up since 5:30am...

Well, it is hard to go from "too many" calories to " a bit less than body burns" calories...That could be a shock for your body...|Plus focusing on it (and especially on the fact you can not eat as much) paradoxally makes you even more hungry than how you would regularly be...Ask your trainer..But I think your body needs to recover, it sucks you have your sessions two days in a row - it shouldn't be that often in the beginning :*
1200 is too low for an active training man. No way. I was eating more during the time I mentioned yesterday and I was not working so hard, plus I am a woman. Ask your trainer, he should be the best one to tell how much. I would say 1800 at least for you. Not sure if you would like to consider low-carbs, but this the best I know to regulate cravings and all that. Works great combined with training. Good luck today!
My trainer, though not a dietician, said that I should probably be taking in 1800-1900 calories, so you were spot on Milena! :)
And we are trying to do low carbs, at least limit them for dinner as my trainer suggested also. So for dinner Bogna is cooking a delicious protein (baked not fried) and some kind of a green salad.
I need to figure out the best combinations for breakfast and lunch to get me through the day.
Thank you both for your support :)
Hey Tym -- I know it's Richmond, but my trainer runs an amazing Nutrition course. If it's too far, maybe there's something similar in Vancouver. Because results are SO much about eating the PROPER food to fuel your body. Not necessarily less food. Good Luck!!
